Objectives:
General Goal:
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and the safety benefits of Ivermectin when used in combination with doxycycline and ivermectin as a stand-alone treatment for patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection who are hospitalised Bangladeshi COVID-19+ve patients, and to determine if it is superior to placebo. Patients in all three arms receive the normal treatment regimen for COVID-19 patients who are admitted to the hospital. Through the successful demonstration of the efficacy and safety of these repurposed medications they could be able to play a crucial role for the care of COVID-19+ patients.Specific Goal:
- The duration of the rate of clearance for virological reasons
- Days needed to treat cough and fever
Secondary Goal:
- Patients who require oxygen
- Patients who are unable to keep SpO2 above 88 despite oxygenation
- Days on oxygen support
- Chest X-ray enhancement
- The length of hospitalisation
- Mortality from all causes
